The CCG, in partnership with the LLR Training Hub, has commissioned the expansion of a local training scheme delivered by the Fosse Medical Centre team, which has been highly successful across the city over the past two years. This programme is to support practices with the significant number of vacancies of reception and administrative staff in general practice.
The programme will run approximately every eight weeks, commencing in mid-September with a cohort of up to 10 trainees each time. The programme is designed to quickly upskill suitable candidates through a 3 week intensive training course which will be a mixed model of online learning and face to face teaching in a practice environment.
Candidates will be assessed as they progress through the programme modules and will then be signposted to the practices who have expressed an interest in appointing a candidate on the understanding that they complete all elements of the training programme satisfactorily.
