

Sam has been a GP since 1989 and is President of the Royal College of General Practitioners, having previously served on the College’s Council. He has spent his GP career in East London at the Bromley By Bow Centre which has over 100 projects under its roof ranging from art and garden therapy and financial and jobs advice, all supporting the wider determinants of health. The social prescribing delivered at the centre is now part of a network of thousands across the country and a growing movement across the world.
Sam is a non-executive board member of NHS England, an Associate Director of NHS Resolution and is a Fellow and Honorary Professor of Queen Mary University of London. A Patron of The National Academy of Social Prescribing, he also holds Honorary Vice President roles with the Queen's Institute of Community Nursing and the British Medical Association, is a member of the Knight’s Society, and is co-chair of the Charity, the College of Medicine.
Sam was awarded a Knighthood for services to primary care in 2015 and an OBE for services to inner city primary care in 1999. He has also been the recipient of The International Award of Excellence in Health Care and the Royal Society of Arts’ Albert Medal.

Hussain is a GP with an extended role in lifestyle medicine (GPwERLM), health coach and personal trainer. He has always endeavoured to take a holistic view on healthcare and is the personalised care lead for the Leamington PCN. He is the RCGP’s lifestyle and physical activity lead; heads the UK’s first PCN-based fitness club; TV doctor on This Morning and GMB; works for parkrun as its Health Partnerships lead; is a trustee at ThinkActive (regional active partnership); and sits on the advisory board for SWIM England. When not working, Hussain is a keen triathlete, representing his country.

Daniel Sokol is a barrister specialising in clinical negligence at 12 King’s Bench Walk chambers, in London, UK. A medical ethicist and author of six books and more than 300 articles on bioethics, law, and medical history, he is the founder of the Centre for Remedial Ethics. Until 2025, he chaired the Metropolitan Police Research Ethics Committee and he is the Immediate Past President of the Osler Club of London (2023-2025). He lectures widely in the UK and abroad.

Dr Selvaseelan Selvarajah (Selva) is a GP Partner at Bromley by Bow Health in East London. He is a nationally elected RCGP Council member and is the co-chair of the RCGP’s Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group (AI SIG).
He is an Associate Director for GP School in South London and was a Training Programme Director for international medical graduate GP trainees across London. In addition, he is the Clinical Lead for an East London out of hours GP service.
Dr Selvarajah’s professional interests include the safe and ethical advancement of artificial intelligence and digital health technologies in primary care, tackling health inequalities, and enhancing medical education. He is a strong advocate for integrated care and innovation in healthcare delivery.

Dr Fahreen Dhanji is Deputy CEO of LLR LMC and a GP with a strong passion for people, leadership and making a difference. After starting her career in surgery, she chose general practice for its continuity and community impact, going on to become a partner at a large Leicestershire practice.
Alongside her clinical work, she has led across PCNs and at system level, including through the COVID vaccination programme. She continues to work as a GP and is deeply committed to mentoring, education and supporting early career GPs to find their voice and thrive in an evolving NHS.

Victoria is the East Midlands Regional Liaison Advisor and her role is to bring someone from the GMC locally to doctors and medical students. She supports excellence in medical education and training by delivering virtual and in person workshops on the GMC’s professional standards.
Prior to working at the GMC, Victoria was a French and English secondary school teacher.

Darren joined the GMC in 2012, taking on his current role as Employer Liaison Adviser for the North Midlands in 2020.
He now provides support to the Responsible Officers and their teams at approximately 50 NHS/Independent Designated Bodies across the Midlands.

Robert is a senior associate in the corporate commercial team who specialises in advising primary and community care providers. He has worked in-house within the NHS including at a community trust, a large-scale GP practice, and an urgent care provider, and has built a practice advising practitioners on developing working at scale services including GP federations, Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and practice mergers.

Greg Povey LLB (Hons) APMS Cert CII (MP,ER) is a Chartered Financial Advisor at GPFinancial. Having started his career at Wesleyan, he decided to go independent in 2023. Greg specialises in giving independent financial advice to GPs and their families. Dr Crowfoot is a portfolio GP from Nottinghamshire with a strong interest in medical education and supporting the development of early career GP clinicians. His holds roles in leadership, teaching and training. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham where he works as the Senior Placements Lead in Primary Care and he works as the Early Career GP Lead for the Phoenix Programme. Outside of work, he enjoys running, yoga and travelling to maintain balance and wellbeing.

Lucy Cassidy is Head of Liaison at Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee, supporting over 120 GP practices across the county. She has over eight years’ experience strategically advising GPs and system partners, alongside ten years in the independent healthcare sector, including senior roles with Ramsay Health Care and Circle Health Group.
Lucy provides hands-on support to practices during periods of significant pressure and crisis, and is known for her calm, practical, and solutions-focused approach. She is a qualified and accredited coach with a Master’s degree in Public Health and a background in psychology, with a specialist interest in workplace health and wellbeing.
